Nitronox

What is Nitronox?

Nitronox is the premier nitrous oxide/oxygen pain relief system that providers use to maximize their patients’ comfort during medical and aesthetic procedures. Dr. Jeffery uses Nitronox to help manage pain and anxiety during treatment sessions. This system is proven to be safe and effective and allows us to enhance your overall experience at our practice in Medicine Hat.

We use this pain relief system during:

How does Nitronox work?

The Nitronox system delivers a fixed 50% nitrous oxide (N2O) and 50% (O2) directly to you on an “as needed” basis. The system is self-administered and controlled by you. Nitronox is a 2-cylinder cart that has a small footprint and extra storage for accessories. It also has built-in wheels to make the system extremely portable. This allows us to move it through different treatment rooms easily.

You can receive N2O and O2 via mask or mouthpiece, and with oxygen-driven pressure control, the system is designed to immediately shut off the nitrous oxide in the event of oxygen supply depletion. Exhaled gas is properly vented with the Nitronox Scavenger tube, which connects directly to a vacuuming system. There is also a built-in oxygen fail-safe to prevent the delivery of nitrous oxide without oxygen.

What can I expect during my appointment?

Nitronox is fast-acting, taking effect within minutes. The effects of the system only last a short duration as well, so you will be able to drive home afterward. Demand flow ensures that you only receive what you inhale. During your aesthetic treatment, you will hold a handheld supply valve to self-administer the mixture of N2O and O2. If you have any questions or concerns about Nitronox before your treatment, please let us know.
